History
Benton-Thomas Office Products is
deeply rooted in the printing
industry. In 1931 Charles Hedderly,
Sr. opened Hedderly Printing Company
in South Boston, Virginia. From the
beginning customer service was the
key to survival. Mr. Hedderly was
always wise to invest in improved
technology. Always searching for new
and beter ways of performing tasks
for the public and constantly
devising new and different ideas to
satisfy the public's wants and
needs, Mr. Hedderly's vision and
courage was the key to the company's
survival during The Great
Depression.
Growing up in the family printing
business, Charles Hedderly, Jr.
joined his father as a junior
partner in 1950. Until the senior
Mr. Hedderly's death in 1971, the
shop expanded it's business into the
area of office supplies and school
supplies. The junior Mr. Hedderly
continued his father's legacy of
providing exceptional customer
service. The company continued to
thrive until Mr. Hedderly decided it
was time to retire.
In 1986, Mike Benton acquired the
business. Thus the name Hedderly-Benton
was born. The business was moved
across town; the first move since
it's creation in 1931. Hedderly-Benton
flourished under the new ownership.
Mr. Benton quickly saw the need to
align with the industry's premier
buying group - then called National
Office Buyers, now known as
Independent Suppliers Group.
In 1995 Mickey Thomas joined the
team and was quickly promoted to
General Manager. The business
continued to grow and expand in
response to the growing consumer
demands. In 2000, Mickey accepted
Mike's invitation to become a
partner in the business. In 2003 the
name was changed once again to
reflect the current ownership -
Benton-Thomas Office Products.
We are proud of our rich heritage
and look forward to continuing to
provide our customers with the
products and services they deserve!

placed throughout the United States
to get you what you need, when you
need it!
We provide next-day delivery to
all of Halifax and Pittsylvania
Counties. Thursday delivery is
provided to the counties of
Mecklenburg, Charlotte, parts of
Campbell and to Person County, NC.
Of course, if you can't wait until
Thursday , just tell us and we will
make sure you receive your order
